Our Story
Plus258 is a family-run catering company built on the bold, smoky flavours of Mozambique and Portugal. The +258 in our name is Mozambique's calling code — our way of saying every plate is a direct line back to the coast: charcoal grills, fresh chillies and recipes passed down through generations.
From an intimate dinner to a 200-guest wedding, we cook with real fire, fresh ingredients and a whole lot of heart. You bring the occasion — we'll bring the feast.
Meet Gabriella
Hi, I'm Gabriella, the cook behind Plus258. I grew up in Mozambique, where the food tells the whole story of the country — African roots, a Portuguese accent, an Indian spark, and piri-piri tying it all together.
Like a lot of Mozambican kids, I was raised to chase a "proper" career: engineer, doctor or lawyer. So I studied, I graduated… and I realised the passion just wasn't there. It was somewhere else entirely — in home cooking, the food I grew up on, made for the people I love.
Plus258 is where that passion lives now. Every dish I cater is the food of home, cooked over real fire and shared at your table.
The food
Mozambican cooking sits at a delicious crossroads. Centuries of Portuguese, African and Indian influence shaped a kitchen built on charcoal grills, coconut, fresh seafood and fragrant spice — and, above all, piri-piri: the little bird's-eye chilli that gives our food its signature warmth. It's food made to be shared, and we cook it the way it's meant to be — slow, smoky and generous.

Mozambican cooking is naturally diverse, so we build every menu around your guests. Vegetarian and vegan dishes, halal preparation, milder spice for little ones, and allergen-aware cooking — just tell us what you need when you book and we'll tailor the menu to match.
